Thank you for a wonderful year at the Forest. We exceed our fundraising goals this year due to all our wonderful families here at Newington Forest.
How well did we do?
Through our fundraising efforts, we received $61,376.29 this year.
How did we do this?
We collected Box tops and used our Safeway and Giant cards. We offered community events like; Parent’s night out, Fall Family Fright Knight, the community yard sale and the Volleyball game vs. Laurel Hill. We offered fundraising opportunities like the holiday bazaar, magazine sales, Sally Foster, our annual spring auction, dinner and dance knight, McDonald’s knight and the spring bookfair. We had spirit wear and school kidz kits and we even opened a school store!
What did we do with all this money?
We spent $20,235.96 directly on our children by hosting the 6th grade breakfast and party. We provided school lunches for those unable to afford it. We funded the chess club, a summer literacy program and brass rubbings for the 5th grade. We sent the children on two field trips per grade level. We hosted a family literacy knight and guest authors in our library. We provided every child with a folder to start the school year. We provided funding so that every classroom now has a smart board!
We spent $4,983.44 directly on our staff with gift cards for classroom supplies. We also provided funding for educational training and teacher and staff appreciations throughout the school year.
We spent $3,978.02 in our community by making a donation to help Laurel Hill’s PTA get started. We donated to South County’s all night grad party and covered the expenses for our community events.
Lastly, we spent $28,956.75 covering our fundraising expenses.
Thanks again for a wonderful year! Without you, this year would not have been the success that it was. I look forward to continuing our success next year.
